Arcola Center only approval by outgoing Board of Supervisors

Tonight's last BOS meeting resulted in a no vote on the Braddock Village proposal, and the Ridgewater Park application was withdrawn at the last minute from the agenda by the developer, Hobie Mitchell. Therefore, only the Arcola Center development in Dulles South on Rt. 50 remains to be built as a result of this past year's development proposal activities.

With the recent appointments of "smart or slow-growth" activists to the Loudoun County Planning Commission by a much more conservative (with regards to development) new BOS, the Arcola Center will likely be the last large opportunity for a while (in at least Eastern Loudoun County) for a significant upgrade in the quality of retail and commercial services for local residents.
